Symptoms of chronic bronchitis and emphysema

Chronic bronchitis with emphysema typically causes patients to experience recurrent coughing, sputum production, wheezing, and chest tightness, especially in the morning or after physical exertion. Chronic emphysema may be triggered by frequent exposure to secondhand smoke or polluted environments, and cannot exclude chronic inflammatory infections of the tracheal or bronchial mucosa as contributing factors.
