Is exercise permissible with a meniscus injury?
Disease description:
I injured my meniscus a few days ago after a fall, and I'm considering exercise to help improve it. Is it okay to do exercises for a meniscus injury?
In general, exercise is not recommended for individuals with a meniscus injury. Engaging in frequent physical activity when the meniscus is damaged may worsen the condition and potentially lead to more severe damage, including a complete meniscus tear. If no locking symptoms occur after the injury, pain usually decreases or resolves within about three weeks. Once the pain has subsided, appropriate rehabilitation exercises can be performed.
