Can hyperthyroidism caused by Hashimoto's disease be cured?
Disease description:
I've had Hashimoto's hyperthyroidism for nearly a year, and my mental state is poor. Can Hashimoto's hyperthyroidism be cured?
Graves' disease (Hashimoto's hyperthyroidism) is usually curable. As an autoimmune disorder, Graves' disease can potentially be cured through active, physician-guided treatment with antithyroid medications. In severe cases, radioactive iodine (I-131) therapy or surgical intervention may also be used. During treatment, patients should avoid high-fat foods.
