Treatment methods for adnexitis
Disease description:
A friend said she has adnexitis and is currently undergoing treatment from a doctor. I'm a bit worried and would like to know what the treatment for adnexitis is.
The primary treatment for adnexitis is antibiotic therapy; however, surgical intervention may be required in more severe cases. Under a doctor's guidance, patients can receive treatment via oral administration, intramuscular injection, or intravenous infusion. Commonly used medications include ceftriaxone, metronidazole, doxycycline, and azithromycin. If the condition progresses further and the patient develops a tubo-ovarian abscess, surgical treatment becomes necessary.
