What causes pelvic fluid accumulation?
Disease description:
I went for a medical checkup today, and the doctor told me I have pelvic fluid accumulation. I'm quite worried and would like to know what causes pelvic fluid accumulation.
Pelvic fluid accumulation may be physiological, with a small amount of fluid commonly appearing during ovulation or menstruation. This is a normal physiological phenomenon that typically does not require special treatment—regular follow-up examinations are sufficient. On the other hand, pathological pelvic fluid accumulation is often caused by pelvic inflammatory disease; other causes include ectopic pregnancy, corpus luteum rupture, and endometriosis. In daily life, poor sexual hygiene or having a sexual partner with a sexually transmitted infection can also increase the risk of developing pelvic fluid due to inflammation.
