Is a myocardial enzyme level over 200 indicative of myocarditis?
Disease description:
My husband isn't feeling well. During his hospital check-up, his myocardial enzymes were over 200, and I suspect he might have myocarditis. I'd like to ask—does a myocardial enzyme level above 200 indicate myocarditis?
A myocardial enzyme level over 200 does not necessarily indicate myocarditis. Although myocarditis can cause elevated myocardial enzymes, other conditions may also lead to increased levels, such as acute myocardial infarction or the acute exacerbation phase of heart failure. Patients should undergo further relevant examinations to determine the underlying cause of the elevated enzymes and receive targeted treatment accordingly. Blind treatment should be avoided to prevent inappropriate management.
