Disease description:

I usually eat with a heavy flavor, and often feel a bitter taste in my mouth. The doctor said my cardiac enzyme isoenzyme levels are elevated. May I ask, what are the causes of high cardiac enzyme isoenzyme levels?

Doctor's answer (1)
Dr. Yang Ziqi
Elevated levels of myocardial enzyme isoenzymes are mainly possibly caused by the following reasons: 1. Myocardial injury: The most common cause is damage to the myocardium, such as myocardial infarction or myocarditis. When myocardial cells are injured or inflamed, they release myocardial enzyme isoenzymes, leading to increased levels of these enzymes in the blood. 2. Physical activity: Prolonged strenuous exercise may cause muscle damage, thereby affecting the secretion of myocardial enzyme isoenzymes. Therefore, levels of these enzymes may temporarily rise after intense physical activity. 3. Trauma: Extensive injuries caused by direct or indirect force to a localized area can also influence the secretion of myocardial enzyme isoenzymes. 4. Other factors: Besides the above causes, conditions such as chronic alcohol intoxication, pneumonia, and acute myocardial infarction may also lead to elevated levels of myocardial enzyme isoenzymes.
