Is systolic blood pressure below 100 considered hypotension?
Disease description:
When I measured my blood pressure this morning, I found that my systolic pressure was below 100. I'm a bit concerned—does a systolic pressure below 100 indicate low blood pressure?
Systolic blood pressure below 100 refers to systolic pressure under 100 mmHg. A systolic blood pressure below 100 mmHg is generally considered within the normal range. Typically, low blood pressure is defined as a systolic pressure of 90 mmHg or lower and a diastolic pressure of 60 mmHg or lower. Therefore, a measured systolic pressure below 100 mmHg falls within the normal range, which is not a cause for concern and does not require further treatment.
