Hyperthyroidism generally does not cause sore throat or pharyngeal pain. Hyperthyroidism mainly results from various factors leading to excessive secretion of thyroid hormones by the thyroid gland. Symptoms typically include hand tremors, palpitations, increased frequency of bowel movements, and irritability. Noticeable enlargement of the thyroid gland in the neck may occur, but it does not lead to sore throat or pharyngeal pain. Sore throat is more likely caused by upper respiratory tract infection. It is recommended to visit a hospital for appropriate examinations to confirm the diagnosis.
