Thalamic hemorrhage is relatively serious, but its severity depends on the amount of bleeding and the degree of compression on surrounding functional tissues. If the patient has a small amount of bleeding and does not exhibit symptoms such as limb impairment or visual disturbances, the blood is usually absorbed spontaneously after treatment, without causing severe sequelae. However, large thalamic hemorrhages generally lead to coma and, in severe cases, may result in paralysis.
