Dr. Li Mingchuan
Prostate enlargement and hypertrophy are generally caused by factors such as aging and continuous secretion of male hormones from the testes. Benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) tends to occur as men age, with the prostate gradually enlarging and becoming prone to overgrowth. In addition, the male testes produce androgens, which can contribute to prostate enlargement and hyperplasia. In the early stages, BPH may not present obvious symptoms, but as the condition progresses, symptoms such as frequent urination, urgency, urinary hesitancy, and urinary retention may develop.
