Can strabismus cause nystagmus?

I've been experiencing nystagmus these past couple of days, and I'm worried it might be caused by strabismus. Can strabismus cause nystagmus?

Strabismus may lead to nystagmus. If strabismus is caused by congenital neuromuscular developmental abnormalities, nystagmus symptoms may occur. However, nystagmus has various causes and may result from conditions such as otitis media or labyrinthitis. Cerebrovascular diseases or brain trauma cannot be ruled out either. If nystagmus symptoms appear, it is advisable to promptly visit an ophthalmology department at a hospital for further examination to determine the underlying cause and then take appropriate measures accordingly.
