Is a retroverted uterus common?

Retroversion of the uterus is uncommon. However, not all cases of uterine retroversion are abnormal. Some women are born with a naturally retroverted uterus, and these individuals typically do not require special treatment. In most cases, uterine retroversion develops later in life and may be preventable. Especially after childbirth, prolonged supine positioning should be avoided; instead, women should alternate between side-lying, supine, and prone positions. In severe cases, surgical correction may be an option.
