Palmar erythema can be identified by its appearance. It is characterized by patchy redness and red spots in the skin of the palmar area at the base of the little finger and thumb (the hypothenar and thenar eminences), which may turn pale when pressed. Additionally, palmar erythema is an important sign of liver cirrhosis and chronic hepatitis. If palmar erythema appears, it is advisable to promptly visit a local reputable hospital to determine the underlying cause and receive appropriate treatment.
