What causes hernia in children?
Disease description:
Whenever my baby coughs severely these days, a hernia appears. What causes hernias in infants?
Most pediatric hernias are caused by incomplete closure of the processus vaginalis. When the tissues around the navel are weak or when the umbilical ring wall is incompletely developed, pediatric hernias may occur. These hernias are mostly due to congenital defects, and symptoms often become more apparent after physical activity or crying. During treatment, it's important to ensure the child gets plenty of rest.
