Generally, patients who have been cured of hyperthyroidism will not develop myasthenia gravis. However, in severe cases of hyperthyroidism, creatine kinase levels in the body may significantly increase, leading to heightened muscle cell metabolic activity and potentially causing myasthenia gravis-like symptoms. If hyperthyroidism is promptly and effectively treated, these muscle weakness symptoms usually improve after recovery, and patients typically do not develop true myasthenia gravis.
