Differences between bone tuberculosis and bone cancer
Disease description:
My grandfather has recently been complaining of bone pain and difficulty walking. We were worried it might be bone tuberculosis, but the diagnosis turned out to be bone cancer. I'd like to know what the differences are between bone tuberculosis and bone cancer.
The difference between bone tuberculosis and bone cancer lies in the following: Bone tuberculosis is a secondary condition, often originating from pulmonary tuberculosis; bone cancer, also known as malignant bone tumor, may either originate primarily in the bone tissue or develop from malignant tumors in other parts of the body. Bone tuberculosis usually results from bone trauma or long-term malnutrition; bone cancer mainly arises when benign bone tumors are not promptly removed or inadequately controlled with medication.
