Oral lichen planus is a relatively serious condition with variable clinical manifestations and a prolonged disease course. If not treated promptly, it can easily progress to cancer, causing severe harm to the patient's health. Oral lichen planus is a chronic inflammatory disease associated with long-term smoking, alcohol consumption, and irritation from poor dental restorations. Mild lesions may heal spontaneously, but severe lesions can lead to oral mucosal ulcers and cause pain.
