Is arm soreness due to ligament strain?
Disease description:
My son played ball with his classmates, and the next day he complained of soreness in his arm. Could this arm pain be due to a ligament strain?
Arm soreness and pain are not necessarily due to ligament strain. When symptoms occur, patients should go to the hospital for physical examinations, CT scans, and other diagnostic tests. Mild ligament injuries can be relieved through rest, cold compresses, compression bandages, and elevating the affected limb, with recovery typically occurring within one to two weeks. For ligament strains, conservative treatment should be the first approach, which may include external immobilization using plaster casts or orthopedic braces to improve related symptoms.
