What does hypoechoic gallbladder wall mean?
Disease description:
I went for a checkup and was told there is a hypoechoic lesion on the gallbladder wall. I would like to know what this means.
Low echogenicity of the gallbladder wall may be due to space-occupying lesions, such as gallbladder polyps or gallbladder adenomyosis. In cases of gallbladder polyps, a low echo signal in the gallbladder wall is typically observed during color ultrasound examination. Similarly, gallbladder adenomyosis may also cause low echogenicity in the gallbladder wall.
