Difference between vulvar lichen and vulvar leukoplakia
Disease description:
Recently, I've been feeling that my vulva is somewhat abnormal. After a medical examination, I was diagnosed with leukoplakia of the vulva. I would like to know what the difference is between vulvar lichen and vulvar leukoplakia.
The differences between vulvar lichen and leukoplakia of the vulva are as follows:
1. Vulvar lichen may be associated with viral infection, low immunity, high mental stress, depression, and other factors; in contrast, leukoplakia of the vulva is an immune-mediated disorder.
2. Vulvar lichen typically presents with severe vulvar itching, and lesions often appear as flat, polygonal papules with dark red or purplish-red discoloration; leukoplakia of the vulva mainly manifests as localized or diffuse depigmentation, resulting in明显 skin whitening with generally irregular borders.
