Do uterine fibroids require hysterectomy?

Uterine fibroids do not necessarily require hysterectomy. Whether to remove the uterus should be comprehensively evaluated based on the size of the fibroid, the patient's age, and symptoms. If the fibroid is larger than five centimeters and accompanied by heavy menstrual bleeding or uterine bleeding, surgical removal may be considered. For younger patients with slowly growing fibroids smaller than five centimeters, regular follow-up examinations are recommended instead of surgical removal.
