What causes cervical erosion in unmarried women?
Disease description:
I am not yet married, but recently I've noticed an increase in vaginal discharge. After a medical checkup, the doctor diagnosed me with cervical erosion. What are the causes of cervical erosion in unmarried women?
Cervical erosion refers to cervical ectopic columnar epithelium. In unmarried women, cervical ectopic columnar epithelium may result from excessive genital cleaning causing vaginal bacterial imbalance, or from unhygienic sexual activity leading to bacterial infection. If personal hygiene is neglected regularly, or sanitary pads are not changed promptly or local cleanliness is not maintained during menstruation, it may also lead to cervical ectopic columnar epithelium in unmarried women.
