What should I do if the nasal mucosa is ruptured and causing nosebleeds?
Disease description:
What should I do if I accidentally injured the inside of my nose, causing the nasal mucosa to tear and resulting in persistent nosebleeds?
Nosebleeds caused by rupture of the nasal mucosa can be treated with methods such as ice application and medication. For nosebleeds due to damaged nasal mucosa, an ice pack can be applied externally to help constrict capillaries and stop bleeding. Ice application should last about 5–10 minutes to effectively reduce discomfort. If bleeding continues after initial treatment, prompt medical evaluation at a hospital is necessary. In cases where nosebleeds result from nasal mucosal injury, a pathological examination can help determine whether there are underlying lesions in the nasal mucosa. With appropriate and timely treatment, most patients will show improvement.
