What is diffuse otitis externa?
Disease description:
The ears are particularly sensitive, and I never clean them in daily life. Recently, I've been feeling a persistent sensation of fullness and discomfort in my ears. What is diffuse external otitis?
The patient has diffuse external otitis, which generally refers to a condition caused by trauma to the skin of the ear canal or local resistance. The patient's external auditory canal is highly susceptible to disease, such as from ear picking, swimming, or prolonged stimulation by purulent discharge from suppurative infections. Additionally, patients with allergies or diabetes are prone to recurrent episodes. Excessive pulling on the ear can also damage the external auditory canal, typically leading to bacterial infection.
