What ear drop is best for otitis media?
Disease description:
I always feel like there's a foreign object inside my ear, and I want to use ear drops for treatment. What is the best type of ear drop for treating otitis media?
For otitis media, phenol-glycerin ear drops or ofloxacin ear drops are recommended. If there is severe pain before the eardrum perforates, phenol-glycerin ear drops can effectively relieve pain and inflammation. For patients with acute otitis media prior to eardrum perforation, phenol-glycerin ear drops may be selected. However, if the patient has otitis media with eardrum perforation and purulent discharge in the external auditory canal, quinolone ear drops are recommended.
