Dr. Zhao Xiaodong
Trichomonas vaginitis presents with a variety of symptoms, typically including significant changes in vaginal discharge—such as increased leukorrhea that changes from normal white and translucent to gray-yellow or yellow-green in color, becoming thin and watery in consistency. The discharge may sometimes contain blood streaks or appear frothy. Patients often experience itching, burning, or even pain in the vulva, with discomfort particularly exacerbated during sexual intercourse. If the inflammation extends to the urethral opening, it may also cause urinary symptoms such as frequent urination, urgency, and dysuria. In addition, patients may develop congestion and edema of the vaginal mucosa; scattered red macules can be observed during gynecological examination. These symptoms not only impair the patient's quality of life but may also negatively affect mental health. Individuals experiencing the above symptoms should seek timely medical attention for prompt and effective treatment.
