Symptoms of vulvar leukoplakia
Disease description:
It is common to experience symptoms of vulvar itching, which can be particularly severe, sometimes leading to uncontrollable scratching. After a hospital examination, I was diagnosed with vulvar leukoplakia. What symptoms does vulvar leukoplakia usually cause?
Lichen sclerosus of the vulva primarily causes severe itching, often accompanied by a burning sensation. Frequent scratching or friction may lead to localized epidermal hyperkeratosis, with scaling or eczematous changes. In cases of lichen sclerosus, small papules may appear on the labia majora and minora, clitoris, or perianal area. As the disease progresses, the skin becomes pale and loses elasticity; in advanced stages, it may result in introital contraction and narrowing, leading to dyspareunia.
