Yesterday I went to the hospital's hematology department for a checkup. The results showed that my antithrombin III level was elevated. During previous tests, everything was normal. What could be causing this?

Antithrombin III antigen levels vary with gender and age, and interpretation should be based on individual circumstances. For example, young males tend to have higher levels than young females, while elderly females tend to have higher levels than elderly males. Therefore, mild elevations may not necessarily have clinical significance. However, elevated antithrombin III antigen levels can indeed be observed in certain pathological conditions, particularly bleeding disorders, such as hemophilia, aplastic anemia, valvular heart disease, acute heart failure, kidney diseases, and after renal transplantation.
