The difference between bacteremia and sepsis
Disease description:
Nowadays, more and more people are affected by environmental and various other factors and suffer from sepsis. I would like to ask, what is the difference between bacteremia and sepsis?
Bacteremia generally refers to the condition in which bacteria infect body tissues and then enter the bloodstream, where they further multiply without producing toxins or causing toxic reactions. However, in sepsis, bacteria also invade the bloodstream and multiply within it, but they produce endotoxins that spread via the blood to various parts of the patient's body, leading to fever, fatigue, distant organ damage, abscess formation, and potential disseminated infections in other sites.
