Dr. Zhang Heyang
Elevated C-reactive protein (CRP) in blood tests may indicate the presence of inflammation, infection, trauma, malignancy, acute myocardial infarction, rheumatoid arthritis, systemic lupus erythematosus, or other acute-phase reactions following major surgery. CRP is named for its ability to react with the C-polysaccharide of Streptococcus pneumoniae and is classified as an acute-phase protein. It is recommended to maintain a balanced diet and avoid spicy or irritating foods.
