Will applying cucumber to the eyes help with red eye?

Applying cucumber slices to the eyes will not cure red eye. It is recommended to use antibiotic eye drops, such as ofloxacin eye drops, lomefloxacin eye drops, chloramphenicol eye drops, or tobramycin eye drops. When there is excessive eye discharge, the eyes can be rinsed with normal saline and gently wiped with sterile cotton swabs. Maintain good eye hygiene and avoid rubbing your eyes with your hands. Do not share personal hygiene items with others to prevent cross-infection.
