Constipation fruit usually refers to chebulic myrobalan (Terminalia chebula). Although it is rich in vitamins and has significant benefits for skin beauty and complexion, excessive consumption may lead to a series of adverse effects. 1) Overconsumption may cause habitual constipation, worsening existing bowel movement problems; 2) Due to its cold nature, excessive intake may lead to spleen and stomach deficiency-cold, causing physical discomfort; 3) Excessive consumption may also disrupt the balance of intestinal flora, resulting in dysbiosis, and could even trigger serious conditions such as colonic melanosis. Women should especially avoid consuming chebulic myrobalan during particular periods such as menstruation, pregnancy, and breastfeeding. It is recommended to limit intake to no more than twice daily to ensure good health.
