Can a threatened abortion be terminated by induced abortion?
Disease description:
I experienced bleeding outside of my menstrual period, so I went to the hospital and was diagnosed with threatened miscarriage. Can a threatened miscarriage be treated with induced abortion?
Threatened abortion can be managed with induced abortion. In clinical practice, for cases of threatened abortion, the decision should be made according to the pregnant woman's preference. If she wishes to continue the pregnancy, fetal protection medications can be administered orally or via intramuscular injection, and approximately 80–90% of such cases successfully maintain the pregnancy. However, if the woman chooses not to continue the pregnancy, induced abortion can be performed. Threatened abortion refers to a condition in early pregnancy characterized by the presence of a gestational sac within the uterus, accompanied by varying degrees of vaginal bleeding, lower abdominal pain, and a sensation of pelvic pressure.
