Disease description:

I've been feeling pain in my glabella for the past few days. At first, I thought it was due to a cold, but it's been several days and the pain persists. Could you please tell me what might be causing pain in the glabella area?

Dr. Guan Yanlei
Pain in the glabella area is generally caused by head-related issues, insufficient sleep, or similar reasons. Cerebrovascular diseases and space-occupying intracranial lesions can lead to pain in this region; therefore, a cranial magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) examination is recommended to determine whether any organic lesions are present. If abnormalities are found, consultation and treatment at a neurosurgery department are necessary. Additionally, individuals experiencing high levels of life or work stress, who are often in states of tension, anxiety, or depression, and who suffer from inadequate or poor-quality sleep, are prone to developing pain in the glabella area.
