How to treat meningioma in the elderly

Meningiomas in elderly patients can be treated through radiotherapy, surgery, and other methods. Meningiomas causing severe symptoms require surgical intervention. For elderly patients who are older and physically frail, making surgery unsuitable, stereotactic radiotherapy techniques such as gamma knife, X-knife, or proton beam therapy may be used. In a few elderly patients, meningiomas are incidentally discovered during routine physical examinations, but without significant neurological symptoms.
