Can white lung be cured?

The severity of "white lung" depends on its extent. If only one lung is affected while the other remains normal, recovery is still possible through sputum drainage, antibiotic treatment, and active expectoration. However, if both lungs show extensive white opacities, this indicates a large area of infection and is a sign of severe pneumonia, which generally carries a poor prognosis. It is commonly seen in patients who have been bedridden for long periods or are in a state of impaired consciousness. Nevertheless, aggressive anti-infective therapy and sputum clearance should still be administered.
