When the due date arrives and the fetal position is abnormal, delivery is generally carried out via cesarean section. Abnormal fetal position alone is not an absolute indication for cesarean section; particularly in cases of transverse lie, a cesarean delivery can be directly performed. For breech presentations, if the fetus is large or the maternal pelvis is narrow, cesarean section is usually recommended rather than vaginal delivery. In multiparous women with breech presentation, if the fetus is relatively small, the mother is tall, the pelvis is normal-sized, and especially if she has previously delivered a macrosomic infant without complications, there may be no clear surgical indication. However, attempting vaginal delivery in such cases may lead to dystocia.
