Disease description:

Last month, my period had clearly ended, but later I noticed bleeding again. I thought it might be that my period hadn't completely finished. This month, I'm absolutely certain my period is over, yet today I'm bleeding again. What could be the reason for bleeding after menstruation has stopped?

Bleeding when menstruation is about to end is usually an abnormal manifestation. To rule out various organic and functional diseases, blood and urine HCG tests should be performed first to exclude pregnancy-related conditions, including special cases such as ectopic pregnancy and retained embryonic tissue. After excluding pregnancy, a pelvic ultrasound should be conducted. Sometimes intrauterine abnormalities such as endometrial thickening, endometrial polyps, or submucosal fibroids may also present with this symptom. It is important to investigate and exclude endometrial neoplasms, even endometrial cancer; these organic lesions should be treated surgically as appropriate. Additionally, hormonal disorders such as thyroid dysfunction should be evaluated by testing the six major female sex hormones and thyroid function.
