Is fallopian tube radiography painful?
Disease description:
I've been trying to conceive for the past two years and am currently preparing for pregnancy. However, after a long time without success, I've decided to go to the hospital for a hysterosalpingography. So, is hysterosalpingography painful?
Hysterosalpingography is usually painful. It is an invasive procedure, classified as a gynecological surgical examination, used to determine whether the fallopian tubes are blocked or filled with fluid. Generally, hysterosalpingography should be performed 3 to 7 days after menstruation has completely ended. Vaginal discharge must also be tested prior to the procedure; if the test indicates vaginitis, the hysterosalpingography cannot be performed until the infection has been successfully treated. Before undergoing hysterosalpingography, additional tests are required, including a complete blood count, four immune markers, coagulation function, liver function, and kidney function, to assess whether the patient can tolerate the procedure.
