How many times should tubal irrigation be performed?
Disease description:
I felt unwell yesterday and went to the hospital for a checkup, where I was diagnosed with blocked fallopian tubes. The doctor suggested that I undergo tubal flushing. However, I don't know much about this condition and rarely heard of it before. How many times does one need to undergo tubal flushing?
Two procedures are usually required. To check whether the fallopian tube drainage is unobstructed, one procedure should be performed each month after menstruation ends, for three consecutive months. As individual conditions vary, appropriate treatments differ accordingly. Only by identifying the specific cause can targeted treatment be carried out. This method has certain therapeutic effects on mild adhesions. Generally, treatment begins 3–5 days after menstruation ends, with sessions every other day—twice weekly. By injecting physiological saline and medication into the fallopian tubes, the drugs can directly contact the affected areas, and the pressure generated during injection helps separate the adhesions.
