What should I do if the fallopian tube becomes blocked after hysterosalpingography?
Disease description:
I am a 32-year-old woman who has developed some sudden health issues due to poor dietary habits—specifically, blocked fallopian tubes. Fallopian tube obstruction can lead to female infertility and directly affect health. What should I do if the fallopian tubes become blocked after undergoing imaging (hysterosalpingography)?
After a hysterosalpingography, if the fallopian tubes become blocked, appropriate treatment should be selected based on the location and severity of the blockage. If the tubal obstruction is mild, it can be treated with salpingostomy. For blockage at the fimbrial end, tubal anastomosis under laparoscopy is recommended. Combined hysteroscopic and laparoscopic surgery is used for mid-segment tubal obstruction, while interstitial (proximal) tubal blockage generally has a poor response to treatment. For patients desiring fertility, in vitro fertilization (IVF) is recommended.
