How to perform exercises for cervical spondylosis
Disease description:
Because I've been sitting in the office for long periods, I've recently felt some discomfort and soreness in my neck. After a hospital checkup, I was diagnosed with cervical spondylosis. The doctor said that appropriate exercise would be helpful. So, what exercises can I do for cervical spondylosis?
Personal health exercises for cervical spondylosis should be performed according to the severity of the condition. The natural curve of the cervical spine is forward (lordotic). It is generally recommended to keep the head up and minimize looking down, in order to maintain the normal cervical curvature as much as possible. If this curve becomes straightened or develops into kyphosis (backward curvature), it can easily lead to neck and back muscle fasciitis, and over time may worsen conditions such as cervical disc herniation and cervical osteoarthritis. The first exercise for personal cervical health is to slowly tilt the head backward until no further movement is possible. After tilting back, slowly move the head forward and downward to increase the range of motion in the cervical spine. Patients are advised to eat a light diet and avoid spicy or irritating foods.
