Causes of tubal infertility

Disease description:

My husband and I have been married for over three years, but we haven't been able to conceive. I frequently experience lower abdominal pain, back pain, and increased vaginal discharge. After a hospital examination, the doctor told me it was due to a problem with my fallopian tubes. So, what are the causes of infertility related to the fallopian tubes?

Dr. Lv Aiming
The cause of tubal infertility lies in the loss of oocyte capture function at the fimbriated end of the fallopian tube, adhesions from inflammatory peritoneal membranes restricting the tube's serosa, and impaired tubal transport function. As a result, oocytes cannot be normally released or captured by the fimbriae, leading to infertility. Conventional treatments generally fail to address all three issues simultaneously, resulting in low cure rates. Therefore, patients with infertility due to tubal factors are advised to undergo timely laparoscopic evaluation of the pelvic cavity, followed by more appropriate treatment plans based on the pelvic condition.
