Disease description:

I am an office worker who has been engaged in desk work for ten years, sitting in front of a computer for long periods. Recently, I've developed symptoms such as shoulder pain, swelling, sensitivity to cold, and restricted movement. After consulting a doctor at the hospital, I was diagnosed with shoulder periarthritis. So, what can I do to relieve the pain caused by shoulder periarthritis?

To relieve pain from shoulder periarthritis, moxibustion and cupping can be used. Moxibustion and cupping are suitable until the second stage, when pain intensifies and often becomes very severe. Acupuncture with local bloodletting can be used to reduce pain. If the pain is severe, non-steroidal analgesics may be added to help alleviate discomfort. Some Chinese and Western medicines can be taken orally. By the third stage, the pain is usually less severe. At this point, simple pain-relief methods such as acupuncture can be used to effectively ease the pain. In daily life, prolonged sitting should be avoided, as well as chronic strain and exposure to cold.
