Symptoms of concussion
Disease description:
Two days ago, my grandfather had a fall. The doctor said he has a mild concussion. What are the symptoms of a concussion?
Concussion is a temporary disturbance of consciousness caused by a strong stimulus, resulting in mild impairment of the brain system without any external trauma, obvious injury, or fractures. During examination, tests for this injury may come back negative; however, the patient has experienced a brief period of impaired consciousness—such as losing consciousness for ten to twenty minutes. After regaining consciousness, the patient may develop certain clinical symptoms, such as headache, malaise, nausea, and so on. This condition is known as concussion. Since it involves a minor brain injury, adequate rest and active treatment are necessary for full recovery.
