Concussion is a condition that can fully recover to normal. It is often associated with head trauma and commonly occurs secondary to cranial injury. Children may present with symptoms such as irritability, dizziness, headache, nausea, vomiting, memory decline, and somnolence. However, because young patients may not always accurately describe their symptoms after a concussion, and to avoid missing serious underlying conditions, it is recommended to perform thorough evaluations including cranial CT scans to rule out skull fractures, intracranial hemorrhage, subarachnoid hemorrhage, and other related disorders.
