Generally, patients may exhibit symptoms of autonomic nervous system dysfunction, such as pallor and excessive sweating. Additionally, the typical presentation includes transient impairment of consciousness immediately after trauma, followed by recovery of consciousness with unclear or incomplete memory of the injury event. Patients may also experience a series of symptoms including headache, nausea, and vomiting.
