IgA nephropathy generally does not cause kidney pain. The main symptoms of IgA nephropathy include proteinuria, body edema, hematuria, and hypertension. In severe cases, it may lead to renal failure and uremia, but kidney pain is usually absent. The presence of kidney pain may indicate other conditions such as kidney stones, acute pyelonephritis, lumbar disc herniation, or lumbar muscle strain.
