Symptoms of influenza A are indeed more severe than those of influenza B and may significantly affect a patient's daily life. Main symptoms of influenza A include fever, headache, cough, upper respiratory tract symptoms, pharyngeal congestion, cyanosis, muscle pain, and fatigue. Patients may sometimes also experience nosebleeds, difficulty breathing, diarrhea, and rashes. Prolonged infection can lead to complications such as pneumonia, cardiac damage, and even death. In contrast, symptoms of influenza B are generally milder; most patients only present with fever, headache, fatigue, and cough, and the majority recover within one to two weeks without requiring antibiotic treatment. However, many individuals may still develop upper respiratory tract inflammation, diarrhea, or pneumonia, and in some cases, complications such as myocarditis or spread to the central nervous system may occur.
